PREMIER Design + Build Group, LLC has broken ground on its new corporate headquarters in suburban Chicago. PREMIER’s team celebrated the occasion with a groundbreaking and outdoor party at 1305 Busch Pkwy. in northwest suburban Buffalo Grove.

The move to a new home was prompted by rapid growth at the design + construction firm. PREMIER recently sold its previous headquarters of seven years, which was in Itasca.

The projected completion date for the 50,516-sq. ft., two-story structure is July 2022. The building includes open offices with daylighting, outdoor workspaces overlooking a lake, breakout rooms, huddle spaces, and a full indoor basketball court. It will include two canopied entrances, cantilevered decks, two drive-in doors, and four dock positions.

PREMIER teamed with Cornerstone Architects, Ltd. to design the building. “We wanted to create an environment that motivates and energizes our team,” Brian Paul, co-founder and managing principal, said in an Aug. 18 statement. “This building is designed to be both highly functional as well as a desirable place for employees, so we are packing it with amenities that they will enjoy.”

PREMIER was founded in 2004 by Alan Zocher, Brian Paul, and Alec Zocher. The firm first established a reputation for its work in the industrial and warehouse sectors. The company has expanded its scope into a wide variety of project types including commercial, medical, retail, hospitality, interiors, and adaptive reuse and recently opened a downtown Chicago office at 71 South Wa

“As we plan for our firm’s future, we want to ensure that we’ve got the talent and the bandwidth to meet the needs of our clients while providing exceptional service and results,” explained Alec Zocher, PREMIER co-founder and managing principal. “Our new headquarters is designed for big thinkers who want to deliver on that commitment.”

PREMIER’s Samantha Skopek is serving as senior project manager on the assignment, working with Tom Johnson as senior superintendent and Michael Long, senior vice president/Midwest market leader. PREMIER has selected Swift Structural Design for structural engineering and Spaceco, Inc. for civil engineering services.

Buffalo Grove Village President Beverly Sussman attended Thursday’s celebration. “We are really excited about welcoming PREMIER into our community and wish them all the best in their new facility in Buffalo Grove,” said Sussman.
