Microsoft to build $500 million data centre campus near Chicago

Microsoft has received planning approval to build a new data centre campus near Chicago, reports CapacityMedia.

The Hoffman Estates village board approved the first two data buildings totalling around 400,000 sq. ft. on a 53-acre site on Lakewood Ave., north of Bell Works Chicagoland.

Construction is expected to take around 18 months for the first two data buildings.
