Rockford-based company Urban Equity Properties recently broke ground for a project to transform the Keystone Building in Aurora into luxury apartments.

The Keystone Building, located in 30 S. Stolp Ave., is an iconic building of Aurora, a suburb of Chicago. It will be reconstructed and shaped into luxury apartments, reports the Chicago Morning Star.

The Keystone Building was built back in 1922 and it was named the Joseph George and Newhall Building at the time.

Calling it the Keystone Building Lofts, Urban Equity plans to redevelop the upper floor of the four-story building into the 30 single bedrooms. The apartments will include high ceilings, granite countertops, in-unit facilities, and many other such things. The tenants will have the facility of their own private lounge.

The project is expected to complete the construction by Jan. 1, 2021.
