Several commercial developments have shown interest in establishing their shops in Lombard, in DuPage County. According to the village’s director of community development William Heniff, some will begin construction work by this fall, reports Dailyherald.com.

Dunkin’ Donuts will set up a shop that will include a drive-through in the eastern half of a 7,500 sq.-ft. retail center at 401 E. North Ave. A tenant for other half is yet to be decided. The construction will begin as soon as developers have approval from the village board.

Restaurant Casa Real Cocina Mexicana is set to open this fall in the High Pointe Shopping Center at 569 E. Roosevelt Rd., and Asian Paradise, an independent massage therapist and spa, will open at 801 E. Butterfield Rd.

A new Spectrum Retirement Communities-run assisted-living and memory care facility called Lombard Place is under construction at 300 W. 22nd St. The facility will have 80 units and is going to open next summer. “They will have some specialized care elements,” Heniff said.

Native Floral, currently located at 1101 North Lombard Rd., is building a new 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse at 1300 N. Lombard Rd. to accommodate its growing business. The firm deals in bulk flower arrangement for sale at retail stores.

Mesa Electronics, an electronic equipment and service provider, is relocating from St. Charles to a Lombard property at 130 E. St. Charles Road. The firm is interested utilizing façade engineering to give the building “much more of a retail presence” by this November. The opening date has not been finalized.

These plans have already gone through the plan commission and village board and more are underway.
