Power Construction breaks ground on Niche 905 at 905 N. Orleans St.

Power Construction Co. LLC,  has broken ground with Intercontinental Real Estate Corp. and Ascend Real Estate Group on Niche 905 at 905 N. Orleans St.

The 18 story, 208-unit residential building will have 149 parking spaces, and proposed Green Roof, according to the Chicago building permit issued on Nov. 25.  The $12.5 million permit covers the caisson foundation and construction of levels 1-4 of the garage superstructure.

REBusiness Online reports that the project has been designed by FitzGerald Associates Architects and the building is expected to obtain LEED certification. The tower will also include 1,750 sq. ft. of ground-level retail, parking for more than 150 vehicles and storage for 110 bikes, as well as views of Lake Michigan and the downtown skyline.

The electrical contractor is Gurtz Electric Co. of Arlington Heights, and plumbing contractor is  James P. O’Sullivan of Mokena.
