The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Chicago Metro chapter 325 has sent out note outlining several upcoming initiatives and activities.

The next chapter meeting on Feb. 8 features a discussion by Catherine Solecki and Mary Ann Lukowicz of Power Construction discussing Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)

AIA defines IPD as “a project delivery approach that integrates people, systems, business structures and practices into a process that collaboratively harnesses the talents and insights of all participants to reduce waste and optimize efficiency through all phases on design, fabrication and construction”.

The event at Buca di Beppo in Lombard starts at 6:00 for registration, with the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fees for members are $40 and non members pay $45. RSVP: Nora Degnan at norad@thorneassociates.com.

Finally NAWIC encourages members to save the date for Women in Construction (WIC) Week, March 5 to 11. WIC Week “is designated as the week to celebrate the accomplishments and hard work of US: women in construction,” Degnan wrote. We will be busy that week! Look out for our fundraiser invitation which will be published next week for Thursday, March 9th at the Public House in Chicago. Sponsorships are available.”
