The Chicago Plan Commission has approved JDL Development‘s plans for a 22-story tower on the site of the former Ed Debevic’s restaurant in River North.

The project includes 251 apartments, 12,000 sq. ft. of ground floor retail and 117 parking spots.

Curbed Chicago reports it is one of several for the River North area and “one of several dozen projects currently underway in the greater downtown area.”

Hartshorne Plunkard Architects (HPA) is designing the project, with a series of “shifting” levels atop a four-story podium/amenity deck, curbec.com reports.
