Chicago issues $13.2 million permit for Pilsen affordable housing building

Chicago has issued a $13,233,678 building permit for a five-story “affordable and mixed-income” housing project in Pilsen.

Chicago YIMBY reports that The Resurrection Project is the developer for the project known as Casa Durango at 1858 S. Racine Ave.

The permit issued on Sept. 1 says the structure will include 37 apartments and 1,610 ft. of retail, and the general contractor is Linn-Mathes Inc.

Chicago YIMBY reports that the developer received approval in 2019 to convert the zoning designation from B3-2 Community Shopping District to B2-3 Neighborhood Mixed-Use District.

Key subtrades include: Electrical – J.M. Polcurr, Inc.; masonry – Alright Concrete  Co.; plumber/plumbing – DW Mechanical Group, Inc.; and refrigeration and ventilation – Atomatic Mechanical Services.
