Chicago has issued a $10.5 million building permit for the shell construction of a 132,964 sq. ft. air cargo facility at O’Hare Airport.
The structure’s address at 11601 W. Touhy Ave. matches that of DHL Global Forwarding. The owner is listed as Alex Brodsky of Annapolis, MD.
Walsh Construction Company II is the general contractor. The structure will have a a 122,160 sq .ft ground floor and a 10,234 sq. ft. mezzanine. “Construction of building is precast concrete load bearing exterior wall panels with structural steel interior framing,” the April 22 permit says.
Key subtrades include: Electrical – Pace Systems, Inc.; masonry – W.B.F. Construction Inc.; plumber/plumbing – Sherman Mechanical, Inc.; and refrigeration and ventilation – S. Mechanical.
