A $20 million building permit for a project at 5050 N. Broadway has morphed into a $45 million revision according to a recent Chicago building permit filing.
The “revision to full building permit 10074235 to revise layout of amenity areas on Levels 1-6 relocation of MEP, addition of plumbing fixtures, and opening of slab to add communicating stairs on 1-2 and 3-4,” the permit issued on April 23 says.
The original permit was issued on April 4, 2018, calling for “interior and exterior renovations to 359,013 sq. ft. office building, including 6-story midrise and 12-story high-rise, into 342 dwelling unit residential with mercantile and existing garage.”
Pepper Construction Company is the project’s general contractor. The plumber is Ewing-Doherty Mechanical, while refrigeration and ventilation are coordinated by Premier Mechanical Inc.
