Ten years ago, Cabrini-Green was best known for its notoriously struggling public housing project of the same name. Today, it’s becoming something of a goldmine for developers who have planned new, luxury high rises for the Near North Side area not far from where the dilapidated public housing towers once stood, ChicagoArchicture.org reports.

The proposed six-story structure at 863 North Orleans St. will have very little parking because it will be built right at the CTA/Brown/Purple Line tracks, just two blocks from the Chicago Ave. L Station.  The architect is Piekarz Associates.

ChicagoArchitecture says the building will have 65,000 sq. ft. of offices. This is a change from a report in September 2014 that Chicago developer Steven Fifield planned a 72-apartment building at the site.
