Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has announced more than $4.3 million in capital investment for a construction project in LaSalle County as part of the $31 billion “Illinois Jobs Now!” construction program.

“New infrastructure projects are creating jobs for hardworking men and women throughout Illinois,” the governor said in a news release. “This investment in LaSalle County will improve local and state transportation networks, and continue Illinois’ road to recovery.”

Princeton-based Advanced Asphalt Company won the construction contract for $4,320,995 as lowest of two bidders. The firm will complete 3.57 miles of milling, resurfacing, shoulders, patching, ramp accessibility updates and pavement marking work on Illinois Route 251.

Illinois Department of Transportation will manage the project.

Thanking the governor for the investment in LaSalle County, State Representative Frank Mautino (D-Spring Valley) said: “The infrastructure improvements will help us continue to grow and strengthen and our local economy.”
