Itasca-based PREMIER Design + Build Group, LLC has announced that Karl Hoermann is the company’s general superintendent, Northeast Division. “He possesses more than 40 years of construction and management experience and will leverage that knowledge to deliver the quality design + build services PREMIER stands behind and to expand our presence across the greater Northeast,” a news release says.
Hoermann began his career in New York as a site superintendent, overseeing commercial and residential developments in the tri-state area. His career as a project superintendent took off in the mid-80s as he focused on office building construction. Hoermann earned increased positions of responsibility ultimately working his way up to executive vice-president.
He had as many as 25 superintendents working under him and was responsible for projects ranging from $100,000 tenant fit-outs to a $100 million ground-up construction project. One of those major projects was The Promenade in Edgewater, New Jersey. Most recently, Hoermann held a vice-president/general superintendent/director of safety title at a well-known construction company in Flanders, New Jersey.
“We conducted a careful search for this critical position and Karl was far and away the most qualified and dedicated candidate we interviewed,” says PREMIER executive vice-president Alec Zocher. “His construction knowledge and familiarity with the Northeast markets, particularly New York and New Jersey, will be a great benefit to our design and build process and ultimately to our clients.”
Hoermann holds the following certifications: OSHA 30, OSHA 500, Hazwoper 40, NYS Asbestos Certified.
