D Construction receives more than $650,000 contract for Cook County road development

Coal City, IL-based D Construction Inc. has received contracts of more than $650,000 in total for various road development works in Cook County, IL. Illinois governor Pat Quinn has announced construction investment of $16.3 million on Sept. 4 as part of his “Illinois Jobs Now!” construction program.

The firm has won two contracts as lowest of the three bidders for both the projects.

Along 0.35 miles of Charlemagne Ave. the firm will resurface, replace curb and gutter, adjust drainage structure as well as construct sidewalk and restore parkway from Fountainbleau Dr. to Grenoble Dr. in the Village of Hazel Crest for $181,751. Pavement markings and pavement patching are also included in the project.

In another deal of $477,704, 0.38 miles of resurfacing, curb and gutter removal and replacement, sidewalk removal & replacement, pavement patching and markings will be done from Ridgeland Ave. to Princess Ave. and from Austin Ave.to Menard Ave. in the Village of Chicago Ridge.

The Illinois Department of Transportation will manage both projects.

The investments’ aim is to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward, a government news release said. “They are also helping to repair and maintain Illinois’ infrastructure to improve safety and efficiency throughout the region,” said Governor Quinn.
