$20 million permit issued for 12-story Greektown building

Chicago has issued a $20 million permit to construct a 12-story residential building at 808 W. Van Buren in Greektown.

The owner, Loukas Development, plans “148 dwelling units, 65 parking spaces and retail on the ground floor,” according to the permit.

Chicago-based design firm bKL Architecture has designed the structure.  The site became an empty lot after a fire destroyed Costa’s restaurant in 2010.

Lend Lease (US) Construction is the general contractor.  Key subs include: ElectricalGibson Electric Co., Inc.; masonryPower Construction CompanyplumbingAdvance Mechanical Systems, Inc.; and refrigeration and mechanicalPremier Mechanical Inc.
