Chicago has issued a $20 million permit to construct a 12-story residential building at 808 W. Van Buren in Greektown.
The owner, Loukas Development, plans “148 dwelling units, 65 parking spaces and retail on the ground floor,” according to the permit.
Chicago-based design firm bKL Architecture has designed the structure. The site became an empty lot after a fire destroyed Costa’s restaurant in 2010.
Lend Lease (US) Construction is the general contractor. Key subs include: Electrical – Gibson Electric Co., Inc.; masonry – Power Construction Company; plumbing – Advance Mechanical Systems, Inc.; and refrigeration and mechanical – Premier Mechanical Inc.
